The founder was cognisant that a lot of small businesses are run by entrepreneurs that are particularly strong in one or two disciplines, such as sales or product development, but that in general, there is a lack of broad based business skills/knowledge that allow these businesses to successfully evolve from entrepreneurial start-ups to becoming larger mainstream businesses. The inability to employ full-time business professionals with broad based experience can present a severe obstacle to growth. This presents an opportunity for specialist consulting firms to provide services on an outsourced basis to these entrepreneurial businesses at a lower cost and without the complications inherent in hiring full time staff.
